Egyptian born artist Konstantin Dimopoulos harnesses the power of color in his “social art action” project The Blue Trees.
In nature colour is used both as a defensive mechanism, a means of protection, and as a mechanism to attract. The Blue Treesattempts to waken a similar response from viewers. It is within this context that the blue denotes sacredness, something reverential.
In this vein he attempts to shed light on the importance of trees, making both an environmental as well as an aesthetic statement.
